English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Welcome to the ESOL program at Purdue Village, where we are committed to teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. ESOL advances the learning of English language skills through an interactive classroom approach. Immersed in a creative, supportive, academic environment, students are presented with fun and challenging coursework to equip them with the appropriate language skills they need in order to reach their educational, cultural, and social goals. Classes are taught with an integrated approach. Speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and pronunciation skills are included in each class. Three levels of integrated skills are taught in the program: beginning, intermediate and advanced. Summer courses include various more specific and focused topics.
ESOL classes are only open to adults living within Housing and Food Services-University Residences at Purdue University. These include Purdue Village, Hawkins Hall and the undergraduate residence halls at Purdue University.
